General

Sima-Basket is a basketball tournament held in Järvenpää, Finland 1.-4.5.2008. The youngest categories (born 98, 99 and 00) are played in a single day tournament on Thursday 1.5.2008, other categories start on Friday 2.5.2008 at 17:00. The last games shall start on Sunday 4.5.2008 at 17:00.

Yearly there are about 100 teams participating the tournament, and the 2008 tournament is the 11th Sima-Basket tournament. Most of the teams are Finnish, but there have also been teams from Estonia, Russia and even Armenia.

Categories

The categories in 2008 tournament are:
A: girls and boys born 1989 or later
B: girls and boys born 1992 or later
C94: girls and boys born 1994 or later
C95: girls and boys born 1995 or later
Mini-96: girls and boys born or and later
Mini-97: girls and boys born 1997 or later
Micro-98: girls and boys born 1998 or later
Micro-99: girls and boys born 1999 or later
Playschool-00: girls and boys born 2000 or later

Location

The town of Järvenpää is situated about 40 km from the central of Helsinki and less than 30 km from the international Helsinki-Vantaa airport. Järvenpää is easy to access by train or bus.

Prices

Team Fees:
A-D categories (games 2.-4.5.2008)
75 € for the teams registrating and paying before 28.3.
100 € for the teams registrating and paying 29.3.-16.4.

Tournament passes:
Everyone participating the games must have a pass, including coaches.

A-pass 60 €, includes:
- participation to games, school housing, 2 lunches and a dinner, 2 breakfasts, 2 evening snacks, transportation between the tournament sites, diploma and entrance to tournament disco.

B-pass 40 €, includes:
- participation to games, 2 lunches and a dinner, transportation between the tournament sites, diploma and entrance to tournament disco.

C-pass 25 € (for one day tournament only), includes:
- participation to games, dinner and diploma.

Parents-pass 45 €, includes:
- school housing, 2 lunches and a dinner, 2 breakfasts, 2 evening snacks and transportation between the tournament sites.
